Mango Salad (Cold)

Mangos...such a lovely golden yellow coloured sweet (when ripe of course!) tropical fruit. You can eat it raw, ripe, anywhere between raw and ripe..each stage you get a different taste and all from the same fruit...amazing isn't it! Here in UK I have seen ripe reddish-green mangos with sweet and sour yellow centre...They are hardly very sweet. So, I thought of making a cold salad which you can enjoy as an evening snacks also ticks the box of one portion of your fruit and veg of the day! How about that!!

1 Mango (pealed and cut into small pieces)
1 tsp red chilly powder
1/4 th of a red onion chopped (optional)
1 tsp of olive oil
pinch of sugar

Simply mix all the ingredients together and serve it cold or room temperature..that's it..simple as cooking involved.

  1. I love mango - and salads - and this looks fab. I'm not very good at peeling them though!

  2. Thanks, Sarah. Well, thats the thing about home made food isn't it, you don't have to be perfect and thats what makes everything you cook so special :).

  3. That looks perfect! I can't wait to try it.

  4. Wow... This reminds me of India sooo much :).. I love it!!.. looks great :)
